Sensaris commercializes different building blocks for making wireless sensor networking part
of everyday life:

Modular SensPods (with Bluetooth, GPRS, WiFi, Enocean or Zigbee radios), and field proven
software modules for easy setup and dynamic visualisation of real time data.
The various software modules form our SensCore platform., enabling data communication
between the sensors and communication relays (mobile phones, PCs, plug computers…….),
and the transfer of data onto the data hosting server if appropriate.
Our customers range from people who just know how to send a Tweet or scan a QR code, to
teams of developers with incredible cutting edge skills for mobile cloud computing. They all
share our design philosophy:

  • Sim-pli-ci-ty: Simple solutions working with the widest variety of communication
    devices (Yes we know, no one reads a user manual anymore…)

We want you to be able to use Senspods now and in 5 years. Since no one knows which
wireless technologies will be widespread then, we separated the sensing part and the
communication part. Processing and communication are done by our main board and the
sensing part is contained in the daughter boards.

Technology

We designed the Senspods to be modular. They consist of mother boards and daughter boards.

On the Senspod mother board you can find:
  • 1 x Texas Instruments MSP430 Microcontroller
  • 1 x Bluetooth radio
  • 1 x SD Card for data logging
  • 1 x Real time clock
  • 1 x GPS
  • 1 x 1000 mAh Lithium polymer battery
  • 1 x membrane keypad
  • 25 x Design tricks derived from our customers in 17 Countries
  • Connectors for daughter boards

Currently our catalog contains daughter boards for 3 types of applications: Environmental monitoring, Mobile health, consumer applications.

Configuration

Senspods are used mostly in mobile environment, but of course they can also sense and transmit data when in fixed situations (installation on urban furniture, industrial monitoring, environmental monitoring at a construction site etc…).

On the software side, Senspods are used on a daily basis with:
  • Mobile phones (Android, J2ME and very soon iOS)
  • PCs (Windows, MAC OS X, Linux)
  • Plug computers

By default, the wireless technology is Bluetooth but we are qualifying a Bluetooth to WiFi bridge.We are working with several partners to offer heterogeneous sensing networks with a mix of Bluetooth, WiFi and GPRS technologies.

Over the years, we have deployed Senspods on pedestrians, bicycles, cars, drones for consumer or industrial applications taught us to quickly adapt to real world challenges.

Partnerships with industry leading partners for transmitting ECG data in real time from a speeding ambulance, pulse oxymeter and carbon monoxide data from a firefighter in action or sending geotagged environmental information using Twitter gave us experience that you can now benefit from.
